A house you haven’t even bought yet starts chasing you in your dreams and then you walk through the front door and the staircase is the same. That’s where Cindy Sarro’s Caseyville, Illinois nightmare begins, and we follow the trail all the way to the thing she swears lived behind one ordinary wall. We’re Josh, Jamie, and Elisa, and we dig into Cindy’s account from her book The Wall with the details that make this story hit so hard: the girls who refuse their bedroom, the lights that won’t behave, the TV that turns itself on, and the sense of being watched night after night from the same spot.

As the haunting escalates, Cindy describes involuntary astral projection followed by invisible beatings, plus apparitions that seem to “try on” different faces: a little boy from another time, a soldier-like man filled with hatred, and an old woman staring back from the mirror. Then comes the moment that still creeps us out to say out loud: a pink smoke cloud pouring from the wall, pulling at the home’s electricity, and moving toward the room where her kids sleep. We also talk through the non-paranormal angles that can’t be ignored in any serious haunted house discussion, including faulty wiring, chronic pain, intense stress, and what sleep deprivation can do to the mind and body.

And the danger isn’t only supernatural. Glenn’s behavior turns frightening, culminating in an axe at the door, and Cindy’s attempts to get help bring their own frustration: churches that back away, a priest who questions her sanity, a cleansing that seems to do nothing, and a final decision to sell and escape. If you’re into paranormal stories, demonic haunting lore, and the messy intersection of fear and family life, this one is a ride. Subscribe for more, share this with a friend who loves haunted house cases, and leave a review with your take: was it a demonic entity, a perfect storm of stress and wiring, or something tied to the land?

Hook And The Story Setup

SPEAKER_03

Between the realm of the dead and the journeys of the living, join Josh, Jamie, and Elisa as they delve into the vast world of the paranormal and breathe life back into the history of the departed.

SPEAKER_01

Hey everyone, welcome back to the Paranormal Peeps Podcast. I'm Elisa. I'm Jamie.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm Josh. What if the warning came before you ever moved in? Before Cindy Sorrow bought the house on the hill in Caseyville, Illinois, she was already dreaming about it. Night after night, she saw herself running down a staircase, chased by something she couldn't see, but knew wanted to kill her. Then she walked into the house, and there were the stairs. At first, the problem seemed like the kind of nightmare any homeowner might face. Bad wiring, flickering lights, plumbing issues, uneven floors. A house that needed more work than anyone expected, but soon Cindy began to believe something else was living there with them. Her daughters refused to sleep in their room. Lights dimmed and brightened on their own. A television turned itself on. The bathroom light wouldn't stay off. And every night, Cindy would wake up with the same terrible feeling. Something was watching her from the girl's room. From the wall. Then the attacks began. Cindy claimed she was punched, kicked, shoved, and tormented by something she couldn't see. She saw a little boy dressed from another time, a hateful man who looked like a soldier, and an old woman staring back from the mirror. And finally, a strange pink smoke pouring out from the wall itself. But the most terrifying part of the story isn't just what Cindy says came from the wall. It's what it might have done to the people inside the house. A boyfriend with an axe, a child speaking in a voice that wasn't her own, a priest who tried to help then refused to return, in a house that, according to Cindy, did not want to let her go. Tonight on Paranormal Peeps Podcast, we're diving into Cindy Sorrow's chilling account, The Wall. Was this a demonic force hidden hiding inside a Caseyville home? Was the house itself a perfect storm of bad wiring, fear, sleep deprivation, and family stress? Or did Cindy Sorrow uncover something far darker behind one ordinary wall? Turn down the lights, keep your eyes off the corner of the room, and whatever you do, don't stare too long at the wall.

SPEAKER_03

What wall? We don't have walls down here. The pink one, the one with the pink smoke coming out of it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we don't have we don't have really nice walls down here, do we?

Cindy’s Early Encounters And Intuition

SPEAKER_00

Cindy's parents divorced when she was still a baby. And when she was eight years old, her stepfather was murdered outside their home. She would ask God why he had to die while crying. It was during one of these crying sessions that she had her first paranormal experience. She lay on the couch crying and asking God for a sign that her stepfather was okay and in heaven. She felt someone grab her hand and squeeze. Thinking that someone had come into the room to give her comfort, she opened her eyes, only to find that the room was empty. While this was her first encounter with the paranormal, it most certainly was not her last. She started feeling the presence of individuals in the room with her, but not being able to physically see them. At night while she was going to sleep, she would she started astral projecting, but not willingly at first. The sensation scared her as she thought that she was dying. She started having strange feelings when her mom was sick or when something bad was about to happen. As she got older, she could start to not only feel the spirits around her, but also see them.

SPEAKER_01

That's interesting that it started as she got like as she was getting older.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Most of the time it's like it happens when you're a kid. Right, and then it gradually fades away. Yeah, as you grow. So that's like totally opposite of the norm.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's yeah, she got stronger, so to speak.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

As she got older.

SPEAKER_01

That's interesting.

SPEAKER_00

Cindy and her aunt Joyce were very close. She even considered her like a second mother. One day as they talked, which is something they did often as Joyce was Cindy's confidant, Joyce said, If I die before you and there really is a heaven, I will come back to let you know. Cindy replied in the same and thought it was a little bit premature considering Joyce at the time was only 41 years old. It wasn't too long after that conversation that Cindy got the phone call. Her aunt had passed away. Little did Cindy know that her aunt was very sick and that she was preparing Cindy for the inevitable. Years later, after Cindy had her daughter Brooke, and Brooke was about three years old, Brooke came into the room from watching cartoons and stated very matter-of-factly that Aunt Joyce wanted to let you know that she wasn't sick anymore.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, well, there you go.

SPEAKER_00

Cindy was quite stunned and re and replied, Aunt Joyce couldn't have told you that. Brooke proceeded to show Cindy where in the house that she had seen and talked with Joyce. Since this appearance, Joyce still visits Cindy, just not in person, but in her dreams.

SPEAKER_01

Wow. See, my thought is like, how could she say that it couldn't be her when she's had these experiences?

SPEAKER_00

Well, I think it's it's kind of one of those things, like where your kid comes to you and you're like, you know it's probably true, but you just you downplay it to not try to scare your kid that they that they're experiencing something paranormal.

SPEAKER_01

I guess. I mean, every parent's gonna do it differently. So that makes sense.

SPEAKER_00

So when Brooke was seven months old, Cindy suffered a freak accident, with which left her with very serious back issues and chronic pain. She was diagnosed with a ruptured disc in her lower back, which was inoperable due to the high risk of leaving her paralyzed. We move forward just a little bit.

The Hill House Decision And Warning Dreams

SPEAKER_00

Uh, right before Christmas 1990, Cindy was renting a duplex in Belleville, Illinois, which is about 30 minutes from her mom's house in Caseyville. She had been waiting for the money to come in from her accident so she could buy a house. Living in the duplex with her were her two daughters, Brooke and Christy, and Glenn, her on-again, off-again boyfriend, who was Christy's father. By the summer of 1991, or sorry, by the spring of 1991, Cindy knew it was time to move back to Caseyville to be closer to her mom. They talked all the time, but it was long distance between the two towns, as this being before cell phones and unlimited minutes or unlimited long distance.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, we remember those. I remember.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. You're like, it's not that far, it's still long distance. And because of that, Cindy was racking up quite a hefty phone bill. Plus, Cindy's mom always seemed to be getting ill, and Cindy would keep traveling back and forth to help her out. Glenn was upset that Cindy would take the kids away from their friends in the school that they loved. This, like many things, would c would cause them to fight, but reluctant, Glenn gave in to Cindy and agreed to move to Caseyville. It was after he finally agreed to move that Cindy started having dreams. Well, maybe the better term would be nightmare on Elmst Elm Street, Freddy's in your dream style nightmares. In these nightmares, Cindy was running down a flight of stairs, being chased by someone. She couldn't see who was behind her, but she knows that they're trying to kill her. These dreams were so vivid and real that she checked around her place to see if the stairs in her dream matched anything in her house. But the only stairs in her house were to the basement, and they didn't match the dream. One day, while dropping her kids off at school, Cindy noticed a for sale sign in front of a house on a hill. This place was perfect as it was close enough to walk to both her mom's house and Glenn's parents' house. Staring staring at the house, she got the feeling that the house was staring back at her. However, due to the house being up on a hill and knowing how winters get in the middle part of the country, this house was a firm no. I mean, we know how bad it is being up on a steep hill.

SPEAKER_03

200 feet at an angle, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It's not fun in the winter.

SPEAKER_00

And I get the picture that this house was kind of the same way. It was just a nice big steep grade up to the top of the hill.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Which is a deterrent for a lot of people when they're house hunting.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yes. Well, especially when you know it's gonna ice over.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You don't want to slide down into the street and go.

SPEAKER_01

Or do you want to be responsible for that? Like I want to put ice out there all the time. Or not ice. No, salt. Salt. Yeah. But maybe it might be a good thing for this house.

SPEAKER_00

Right?

SPEAKER_01

Let's put some salt around the perimeter of the house.

SPEAKER_00

Cindy did end up finding the perfect home right behind the elementary school. The girls could walk to school and Cindy could watch from the porch. They could even come home for lunch instead of having to eat at school, except for baby on pizza day.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, because you know pizza day at school is the best. Literally, that's what my son told me today. Really? He couldn't wait for junior high's pizza day because he got Pizza Hut Pizza.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my. That's awesome.

SPEAKER_00

Glenn ended up finding the barn house on the hill and was immediately taken in by the house. Or maybe it was the property. This led to many more fights over the two houses. And the parents even got involved with Glenn's mom siding with Cindy that the winter would be too tough with having to try and navigate that steep driveway. Everything and everybody told Cindy to not buy the house on the hill, except for Glenn. He was dead set on the Hill House, even though it wasn't his money to spend.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna say, like, whose money is buying this house?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Cindy's Cindy's injury money.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but they're not even married.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they have one kid together, not married, on again, off again, not his money. Yeah, let's give the decision to him, because there's no weird thing going on there.

SPEAKER_00

Right?

SPEAKER_03

That's drawing him to that house.

SPEAKER_00

Cindy eventually gave in and agreed to buy the house on the hill. If Cindy would have held her ground and refused, or just simply told Glenn that it was her money and her choice, maybe, just maybe, all the events that unfolded would have been avoided. The barn-shaped house had its appeal despite being accessed by a rather steep driveway up the side of a hill. When you reached the house, there was a circled driveway full of flowers, and flowers surrounded the entire house. The backyard was expansive, continuing up the hill leading into some woods. Those and through those woods, you could reach Glenn's house and Cindy's uh Cindy's house, Cindy's mom's house.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that's fun though.

SPEAKER_00

The house had a screened-in porch full of plants. Inside the house, to the right, was a staircase. To the left, a small TV room. Straight ahead from the front door was a rather large kitchen. And to the left of the kitchen was a set of cafe doors that leads to the laundry room, and off the laundry room to a small bathroom. The entire fur first floor was built underground, giving it kind of like this dark and gloomy feeling.

SPEAKER_03

The first floor?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the main floor, the bottom floor.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's that's kind of weird. Weird, yeah. So do you step down into No, you walk in.

SPEAKER_00

So you come in on the so you come in on the driveway, walk into the front door, and that's basically in the side of the hill.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, weird.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so the second floor would be technically ground level. Like above yeah, above ground, but in from the back. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, makes sense. Got it. Weird though. That is weird.

SPEAKER_00

Um up the staircase on the second floor is a living room with a fireplace and two bedrooms. The perfect quaint home for Cindy Glenn and the two girls. Things inside the house didn't start off well. Maybe this was just their chance to avoid what was to come. The loan wouldn't go through because the house needed a new roof. Eventually, though, the roof got fixed, and in September of 1991, Cindy became the owner of the house on the hill. Soon she would realize that this would become one of the biggest mistakes of her life. The first day of moving was pleasant, as they had hired some men that Glenn worked with to help with the move. And as they were moving in, a small boy came over and introduced himself as Sean. Sean lived in the trailer that was near their home, off to the right of the house. Meeting Sean felt like a little bit of a blessing because he was of similar age to her girls. The second day, though, things seemed to be a little off. The flowers around the house seemed to have attracted bees, wasps, and hornets in such an overabundance that they prevented anyone from accessing the house.

SPEAKER_01

Yikes. I mean, I hate I hate a hornet.

SPEAKER_00

So if there's meaning, we're talking swarms of these things.

SPEAKER_01

No. And they're mean.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, they are super mean. Cindy and Glenn uh retrieved spray and shovels to deal with the problem. They sprayed and dug up all the flowers from around the house and the driveway, which took hours to complete. But they were able to finish moving in that day.

Move-In Malfunctions And The Girls’ Room

SPEAKER_00

That night, Cindy stood in her kitchen and noticed something familiar about the stairs. Then it hit her. That she had missed in all of the excitement of buying the house and moving. Those stairs weren't just familiar, they were from her nightmares.

SPEAKER_02

Creepy.

SPEAKER_00

Cindy began to also notice other strange things about the house. All of the downstairs windows didn't open. And while she was putting canned goods away in the kitchen, a cabinet door fell off. And then they all began to fall off. The lights began to flicker. She plugged the can opener and toaster in, and a fuse blew. After Glenn got the lights back on, Cindy decided to sit down in a chair. You know that kind of you know the kind that have the wheels on the bottom?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

As soon as her no sooner than her butt hit the seat than she was sliding across the room.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_00

What a way to find out the floors aren't even.

SPEAKER_01

Oh geez. Well my question is. Okay, obviously this is going the paranormal route. Right.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

But is there an inspection done?

SPEAKER_03

I mean, typically when you buy a house, there has to be an inspection done. So I'm guessing yes, but how did this pass inspection with all the doors falling off and the abnormal to open?

SPEAKER_00

Well the windows she they found out were they called fake windows. So that you can see through them. But they were never meant to open.

SPEAKER_01

They were never meant to open. So it wasn't like they were sealed shut on purpose. Like they were meant to open, but somebody like you know how people will paint over them and paint them shut.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Or, you know what have you. So it wasn't that. It was just they were never meant to be that way. They were never meant to open. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And if you think about it, it's like you're underground on ground. So like having a window that doesn't really open is kind of a safe way to have it, because then you have to worry about anyone like crawling in your window and getting into your house.

SPEAKER_03

Right. So like there's some comfort in it, but but what about all the cabinet doors and the slanted floor?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Like, wouldn't that have been kind of caught in an inspect? Especially the floor.

SPEAKER_00

The floor would have been should have been caught. But I mean the they had an inspection done because the the the roof didn't pass inspection. It had to be replaced.

SPEAKER_03

Wait, but the horribly slanted floor did?

SPEAKER_00

Must have. I mean, we've had some we've been in some places that are slanted, but not that slanted.

SPEAKER_03

That's like really slanted.

SPEAKER_00

That's really slanted.

SPEAKER_03

You sit your butt in a chair and you roll across the room.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. She decided to go into the room that was that they designated as her TV room downstairs and put a TV tray. Uh put up a TV tray, only to have it almost fall right over. So the floor wasn't just a little uneven, it was like a hill.

SPEAKER_01

You would have seen that.

SPEAKER_00

You you should have seen that.

SPEAKER_01

How could you not?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I have no idea.

SPEAKER_01

I have been, when Ellen and I went looking at homes, one of the homes that we looked at was this huge, beautiful home, okay? And it was built on a hill, but the problem is, is the house was sliding. Oh so half of the house was sliding down the hill, the other half stayed put. So doors couldn't open because the floor was that crooked. Oh, that's bad. But the thing is, is that's only a few inches.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Versus if a table is a TV tray just tips over. Tipping over because it's it's that steep, you're gonna see that visibly.

SPEAKER_00

You should be able to.

SPEAKER_03

Well, not just that, not just visually, but I mean, did you not walk into the room and walk across the room, feel yourself like going downhill or anything?

SPEAKER_01

Or like you can't like you know when you're when you're in a basement or in a room where you change rooms and that shift happens?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And you can feel it. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's obvious.

SPEAKER_01

Even if it's minor, you can feel it. Yeah. So it's like, come on, guys.

SPEAKER_03

How did they miss it?

SPEAKER_00

How did they miss it? Not a clue. Right. And she doesn't, I mean, she doesn't go into details on it.

SPEAKER_01

Keep going.

SPEAKER_00

The bathtub upstairs was clogged. So Cindy took a shower downstairs only to find a huge puddle on the floor and the sink also plugged. When she pulled the chain on the light to turn it off, it instantly came back on. What a dump. Too bad there aren't lemon laws on homes. She might have been able to trade it in for a better model.

SPEAKER_01

Uh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Unfortunately, this was just the beginning of the troubles in the house. Cindy got her girls' room set up upstairs, bunk beds and the like. And as they were putting things away, Brooke, the oldest, came out of the room stating, I don't want to be in that room. And Christy wouldn't even go into the room without her older sister with her. Thankfully, there was a knock at the door, and Sean had come over to play with the girls. And since they didn't want to be in their room, it was decided to make the utility room on the main floor the girls' playroom. Boxes of toys were brought in and unpacked. Sean and the girls were having a great time playing when Cindy noticed that the lights in the room would go from very bright to almost out. Cindy asked the girls if they had noticed the lights, and much to her surprise, they said it'd been going on the entire time they were in the room playing. And that night, as bedtime arrived, the girls refused to sleep in the room. Cindy had a bad feeling about the room, and especially the closet. So she allowed the girls to sleep and w with her that night, as Glenn worked nights and wouldn't be home. So Cindy decided to sit on the couch in the living room while the girls were sleeping in the bed. As she started to drift off to sleep, her eyes flew open, and she got the feeling that she was being watched from something inside the girls' room. From her spot on the couch, she could see directly into their room. Needless to say, Cindy didn't get much sleep that night.

SPEAKER_03

So that feeling must have been really overwhelming.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Very, very strong.

SPEAKER_03

Like, I wonder if she could have like went over and shut the door to the room. You know what I mean? Like, I mean, that's that's what I would have I would have got up, shut the door, shut the door, see if that helped.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Rather than just leave it open.

SPEAKER_00

Well, yeah, because there's that. That uneasy feeling you get when you're in the dark and you're looking into a dark room. Or you're in a light a lighter room looking into a dark room.

SPEAKER_03

Or a dark hallway.

SPEAKER_00

A dark hallway, you kind of get that uneasy feeling. It's the the unknown. Yeah, the fear of the unknown that something's there. I wish that's what this was.

Astral Projection And Nightly Beatings

SPEAKER_00

The next day, while the girls were at school, Cindy decided to take a nap on the couch. Before she knew it, she astroje astro projected out of her body. But she stayed in the house. And all of a sudden, she felt terrible pain. As if someone or something was punching her body in the stomach and lower back. She could feel the pain of each blow, but could not see the attacker. She pleaded in her mind, please, please, please stop. It hurts. Leave me alone. In an act of de desperation, she pleads to God. Please, God, make it stop. And immediately she's back in her body and the invisible attacker gone.

SPEAKER_03

That'd be terrifying.

SPEAKER_00

And you kind of are helpless because you're not you can't see it. What's doing it? She's not in her body.

SPEAKER_02

You're not in your body, and you can't control pain. Like, how do you control that?

SPEAKER_00

Exactly.

SPEAKER_02

You don't. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Because of the electrical issues that had been occurring, Cindy had called for an electrician, and while they waited for one to arrive, the house fell into a bit of routine. Sean would come over and play with the girls in the utility room. As they played, the lights would go dim and then go bright. The bathroom light would come back on immediately after pulling the chain. The girls would get tucked into Cindy's bed at night, and Cindy would go lay on the couch to watch TV. Cindy would pray to keep her family safe and to not leave her body. She would be awakened each night during the same talk show. And she would have this the same sense that something had something to do with the wall in her girl's room. It had felt like the electrician arrived just in time because the girl's TV started turning on by itself. The electrician did a thorough inspection of the house and had something had some startling findings. The wires in the house had been turned around. So the hot wire was on the neutral, and vice versa. The electrician fixed the wiring, and everything seemed to be alright in the house.

SPEAKER_03

So the wiring was wrong.

SPEAKER_00

The wiring was backwards.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Interesting.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So I'd like to know who she used to inspect the house because I want to make sure we steer clear if we ever buy a house.

SPEAKER_00

Don't use that guy. Things seemed to be fine for a little while until the most unthinkable thing could have happened. Glenn brought a puppy home. Much to the dismay of Cindy. Not because she didn't like animals, but because they had been down this road before. She would be the one that would have to clean up after it and take care of it, while Glenn would do nothing.

SPEAKER_03

Of course.

SPEAKER_01

That'd be upset too.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. That evening, things started going haywire again. The bathroom sink started backing up again. The light in the bathroom would turn on after being turned off. The light bulbs started blowing out. The once fixed garbage disposal stopped working again. Cindy picked up the phone to call her mom, only to find it dead. And the nightly routine continues with Cindy laying down at about 10 p.m. only to be awakened with the talk show starting, her eyes going straight to the wall. She would then stay up the rest of the night until morning. The next morning after Glenn came home from work, Cindy confronts Glenn about the house, and a very heated argument ensues. Cindy leaves the house, slamming the door on her way out. As she makes her way to where the puppy is tied up outside, she gets shoved violently from behind, almost driving her to the ground. Thinking that Glenn is attacking her, she quickly turns around. Who's attacking her? No one. At least no one she can see. Confused and scared, Cindy heads back into the house only to find Glenn fast asleep in the bed.

SPEAKER_03

Oh jeez.

SPEAKER_01

Crazy.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, of course.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. Like most people, Cindy fell into a routine. One that always found her on the short end of the of sleep, leaving her drained of energy. However, on this day, she found she had an overabundance of energy, and she decided to rearrange the house, wearing herself out to the point of exhaustion. So when 10 p.m. rolled around, it was time and it was time for bed, instead of having a hard time falling asleep, she was out almost immediately. Too fast for her to prevent herself from accidental astral projection. And before she knew it, she was out of her body. Immediately the pain started as heavy blows from the unseen entity rained down on her body. Both punches and kicks this time. She cried out several times to God to deliver her from this attack, and eventually it stopped, and she was back in her body. It was then that she realized that this entity was clever and patient. It would watch and wait until Cindy fell asleep and left her body before pouncing on her like a lion on a wildebeest.

SPEAKER_03

Predator.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. The psychological toll started adding up as Cindy couldn't get more than a couple hours of sleep at night. She'd be awakened shortly after falling asleep, and always the feeling of something in the girl's room by the wall. One morning, while the girls were at school, Glenn calls out for Cindy to come here. Cindy, being exhausted, was asked what he wanted. Glenn insisted that she come to him. Cindy, not looking for another to fight, decided to go see what Glenn wanted. As soon as she entered the room where Glenn was at, he attacked her with an oversized pillow, trying to smother her. Being severely overpowered, she feared that this was the end, but somehow she managed to get away. Grabbing her keys on the way out the door, she ended up at her mom's house for the day. Cindy waited for the girls to come home on the bus. And after picking them up, she decided to go back into the house with the girls. Glenn was awake, and when she walked into the door, Cindy decided not to say anything to Glenn about what had happened earlier that day. And neither did Glenn.

SPEAKER_03

Makes you wonder, was it really Glenn?

SPEAKER_00

Right?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, like was he asleep? And being controlled, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But would you go back into the house?

SPEAKER_03

No, she tried to kill you. This is what confuses me. I I just I I guess I just don't understand. Um, maybe it's because she's just so worn out and sleep deprived, and you know, she's I don't know. I don't know. But personally, I would never step foot in that house.

SPEAKER_01

You had no other place to go. I can see going back to the house. But she has her mom. She had her mom. She had her mother-in-law, not mother-in-law, but you know, yeah, right. His mom. His mom that was on her side. Yeah. Like she had places to go. Why put your kids in that situation? He was trying to kill you.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_01

It's not like it was, you know, like he shoved you where it's not as detrimental, right?

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Not saying it's not important. No, he tried to end you. But he tried to end you, and you're going back in with your kids.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

There are no there are a few cases that I'm just like I don't get it, lady. But it would be a very left a different story if she just laughed.

SPEAKER_03

Well, and and here's the thing though, and I I I try to look at the other side of it. Like, unless I was in her shoes and her state of mind. I want to know what her thought process was. Right.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

I don't like I would I there's no way I'd never I'd ever understand.

SPEAKER_00

I guess it's it it's kind of one of those tough things because obviously this this relationship's a a bit on the dysfunctional side anyway. They've been on again, off again. They've they have fought multiple times. So like the this relationship is not on good standing. No.

SPEAKER_01

Well, and obviously she doesn't have a bunch of confidence because she lets him sway her in where she's gonna spend her money. Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And it's not even just little things, like that's a huge investment.

SPEAKER_00

A house is not something small, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and so obviously he's got a lot of sway.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah.

Threats, Fighting, And Glenn’s Breakdowns

SPEAKER_00

Less than two months after moving into the house, Cindy celebrated her birthday on October 10th. Sean came over to play with the girls. Suddenly, Christy came over to Cindy crying. And when asked what was the matter, Christy's response sent chills down her spine and made her heart race. I'm going to nail your mom to the wall that midnight, is what Sean had told Christy. When confronted on why he had made that statement, Sean shrugged his shoulders and said, He didn't know. That night things in the house seemed to escalate. As Cindy lay on the couch asleep, she was awakened suddenly by a sharp pain. Something had pulled her eyelash, and open as she opened her eyes, she noticed that sh she had only been asleep an hour. She tried to go back to sleep when a fist struck her arm. Startled awake yet again, and this time there was no going back to sleep. No one visible in the room, but yet the strong feeling of being watched was coming from the girl's room and that wall.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I knew something was up with this Sean kid. I was like, there's gonna be something up with this Sean kid. Either he's a ghost in the whole time, or there's like some type of uh paranormal thing that's gonna happen with this kid.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. He's a good kid though. He's just unfortunately was in the wrong place at the wrong time on this one. Um, things continued to get worse for Glenn and Cindy as they continued to fight. And Cindy at this point was not sleeping more than just a couple hours a night. One night, as Cindy lay on the couch, just having completed her prayers, she said in her mind, It's not fair that you can see me and I cannot see you. This proved to be all the motivation the spirit needed to make itself known to Cindy. As Cindy had just fallen asleep, wham! Another punch. As Cindy opened her eyes and looked at the wall, which was customary by this point, there stood a small boy dressed in the early 1900s clothes.

SPEAKER_04

His name is Sean. No.

SPEAKER_00

Small beanie cap, beige vest with white shirt underneath, khaki pants to the knees, black stockings from the knees down, and his shoes were black with the strap across the top. She sat on the couch, locked into his eyes, not frightened, because he kind of looked like her nephew. The boy motions for Cindy to follow him.

SPEAKER_01

Nope.

SPEAKER_00

She knew that the boy was trying to get her to play with him, and then he turns back into the room and disappears around the corner. Did he go into the wall or into the room where the girls were sleeping? Cindy didn't know, as she was so drained from the experience, she ended up falling asleep for five hours. The presence, or as Cindy calls it, the evil, started making itself known to her during the waking hours as well. Every time it was near her, Cindy's heart would skip a beat and her ears started having issues. It was like they were blocked, muffling the sounds, making it hard for her to hear anything. Things between Cindy and Glenn reached a boiling point when Cindy started getting ready for the twice-annual community garbage garbage. Well, actually, you know what? Garbage sale probably actually works. The twice-annual community garage sale down on Main Street. Glenn was infuriated that she would be going out and sitting down on Main Street all day. Right? Glenn might have been influenced by the alcohol alcohol that he had been drinking. Or maybe it was something more sinister.

SPEAKER_03

Or both. I think both.

SPEAKER_00

Cindy, scared, managed to get Glenn's mom on the phone to convince him to spend the night back with his mom to cool down. Glenn agreed and left the house for the night. But later that evening, Cindy was awakened by Glenn screaming and cursing like a raging madman. She was terrified and called the police. But before the police were able to arrive at the home, Glenn came around the corner, having been successful in gaining access to the house. And what he was carrying terrified Cindy. In his hands was an axe. Thankfully, the police arrived before Glenn could do anything. When asked by the police what he was doing with the axe, Glenn's response was a simple one. I was dropping wood.

SPEAKER_01

Of course.

SPEAKER_00

The police didn't buy his reasoning, as it was pitch black outside. Glenn was hauled off by the police.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, this is attempt number two. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Number two. Yep. The nightly beatings continued.

Apparitions: Boy, Soldier, Mirror Woman

SPEAKER_00

The spirit choosing different places to strike her. Arms, back, stomach. One particular night after she was punched awake, she looked at the wall and noticed not the little boy standing there, but a man. He was tall with dark hair in his late twenties or early thirties. He was dressed in a white shirt with puffy sleeves. His pants were tucked into his boots right below the knees. He looked like a soldier. And when they made eye contact, Cindy was terrified, as his eyes were that of hatred and evil.

SPEAKER_01

See, it makes me wonder who he was in her life.

SPEAKER_00

Right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Another night after Cindy was forcefully awakened, instead of looking at the wall, Cindy ignored the presence and went into the bathroom. As Cindy washed her hands, she looked into the mirror and shocked to see a woman staring back at her. It wasn't her at all. The woman was old with gray thinning hair. And when she pulled the light chain to turn off the lights, they came right back on. When she went to go pull again, there was a hand on top of hers. Terrified, she ran on back to the couch, flying over it, and now she couldn't help but stare at the wall. Two months into living in this nightmare. We're at two months.

SPEAKER_01

That's a lot. Two months, you're seeing three different spirits or the same spirit that is three different ways. Looking, yeah, trying to come at you to see what scares you the most. Yep.

SPEAKER_00

And tried to be killed twice by your boyfriend. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Nope, nope, nope.

SPEAKER_00

Two nights into living in this nightmare, Cindy didn't know that this night would be her last night sleeping in the house.

Pink Smoke And A Child Taken Over

SPEAKER_00

This night, when she was awakened, she noticed something odd. The talk show that she normally wakes up to was over. The entity had let her sleep. She looked over at the wall and then back to the TV, and something caught her eye. It was a smoke, not black or white smoke that we're all accustomed to, but a pinkish smoke. It was coming out of the wall slow at first, but then it kept coming and growing until it was a huge cloud filling most of the girls' room. The part that was truly terrifying was that an energy was coming out of the center of this cloud. A strong and powerful energy. It was in this moment that she realized what had been beating her at night. The lights started to flicker. The sound on the TV started to go in and out, as if the cloud was pulling energy from all the electricity in the house. She started praying out loud, God, please help me. In Jesus' name, do not let the lights go out. She watched in horror as the cloud passed through the wall leading into the room where her children were sleeping. Ruled by fear and she sorry, ruled by fear, she tried to figure out how to get out of the house and run without her children. She stopped and exclaimed, What kind of mom am I? My girls are in there with that thing. Instead, Cindy started to pray. In the middle of her prayer, Christy comes running out of the room, enraged, her face twisted with hatred and vile. She yells in a deep voice that was not her own. I saw what you did, and I hate you. Again, Christy repeats the accusation. Cindy looked into her daughter's eyes and noticed that they were distant, far off look, like she wasn't even aware of what was going on. Cindy, terrified of her daughter, or the thing that was in her daughter, decided to show love and kindness instead of fear and anger. She hugged her daughter and said, Come, let's go back to bed. Escorting her daughter back to bed, she noticed that the bedroom light was that was always on, was off. She turned the light back on, tucks her daughter in, and tries to think about the next move she needs to make. It was 5 a.m. and most of the night was already gone. Cindy decided she needed guidance, so she turned to her grandmother, who taught her about God. The conversation was centered on what had been happening to the in to her in these past two months, and by the time it had concluded, Cindy was positive it was time to leave the house. She moved with her daughters back into her mom's house, which was way too small for all of them. But it was better than being in that house. Cindy knew that she needed help with this house. Whatever it was that was doing this, it was evil. And she knew that she didn't have the strength to fight it on her own. She started calling local churches to get some help. But all of the people she talked to and told her story to were too scared to even step foot inside the house. So while she was hanging out with some of her close friends and her family, Kay, who was her friend's mom, and John, who's Kay's ex-husband, she started conveying all of the things that had happened to her. John decided to call a priest that wasn't from the surrounding area and asked for help. The priest listened to John as he told, retold Cindy's story, and then asked to speak to Cindy. Are you on drugs? Or do you drink alcohol? He asked. Cindy was flabbergasted and a little hurt, responded, This has nothing to do with drugs or alcohol. Don't you understand? This evil is trying to kill me. Please help me. If you don't, I'm going to die. Crying, she gives the phone back to John, feeling defeated and hopeless. Cindy drives home to her mom's. God, I can't fight this on my own. I don't even know how. I need the priest's help. So please, somehow, make the priest understand that I need his help. She prayed out loud as she drove.

Seeking Help: Priest Doubts And Psychic Advice

SPEAKER_00

Much to her surprise, the priest called her the next day and talked with Cindy for a long time. As Cindy recounted all of the things that happened to her in the past two months in the house, he promised to keep in touch as he ended the call. Cindy Is at this point is desperate for resolution. She calls a psychic.

SPEAKER_01

So he wait, he doesn't even go and help her? He just said, we'll keep in touch?

SPEAKER_00

That's where it ended.

SPEAKER_01

What the heck?

SPEAKER_00

There are no words. There are no words.

SPEAKER_01

Like, I'm like waiting for him to be like, okay, yeah, let's go. Let's uh let's at least see this place.

SPEAKER_00

Right? That's what you're thinking.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Alright.

SPEAKER_00

So one thing to mention by this time, Cindy and Glenn have reconciled.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no.

SPEAKER_00

So again. Again. Um. So yeah, it's it's a little crazy on that end. But Cindy is desperate to get resolution, so she calls a psychic that was recommended to her. The psychic uh Carrie told Cindy that she was not crazy and the entity was too powerful for her to go into the house and deal with, and that the entity was demon-like.

SPEAKER_04

No.

SPEAKER_00

Right? She did give Carrie some instructions on how to protect herself and her home. She then informed Cindy that the spirit had always been in the house and that it lives there. But it's also attracted to Cindy. And as long as she is in that house, it will keep coming out of hiding. The call did help Cindy f Cindy feel a little better, like kind of like there was some hope.

SPEAKER_01

Well, when you are experiencing those things, and you have a gift, and you're gifted like that, where you can sense and feel and possibly see whatever, you are a target.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I mean you experience things that other people can't experience. You have people telling you, oh, cool, weird. Uh-huh. Sure. When like you want to talk to somebody about it, and when you are going to a priest about it and you're desperate, like, that's gotta be humiliating. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

When someone who's supposed to believe you isn't.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah, it can be very tough.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

The priest called and wanted more information from Cindy, such as what doctor she was seeing and what medications are she take is she taking. Also, has she been watching any nightmare on Elm Street movies?

SPEAKER_01

Oh my goodness gracious.

SPEAKER_00

For days after Thanksgiving, a few days after Thanksgiving, the priest called again, asking if Cindy was a devil worshipper.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, stop. Seriously.

SPEAKER_00

To which Cindy responded, I've always believed strongly in God since I was old enough to under understand about him.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's like, no, I'm a devil worshipper and I'm gonna call a priest. That sounds like two things that would go hand in hand. Right. What?

SPEAKER_00

He asked a few more questions and then ended the call. Cindy was actually kind of hopeful that the priest was going to help her. After all, why would he keep calling back, asking more questions? Again, the priest called back, this time asking if Cindy would undergo a psychological evaluation. Cindy agreed to take the evaluation, worried that the test would show that she was crazy. The doctor completed the testing and let Cindy know that the only thing wrong with her was that she had too much psychic ability. Cindy was relieved to know that she wasn't crazy, but the nightmare of the house still loomed.

SPEAKER_01

So I wonder what the doctor does with that information. Right? I don't know if I've ever had a doctor be like, hey, you have amazing psychic abilities. Right? I don't think I have ever heard of a regular doctor or whatever.

SPEAKER_00

He's a psychiatrist, but yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You have really good psychic abilities. Like I thought that's not something I've ever seen. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

By the time Christmas rolls around, Cindy was not sleeping at night. She would stay awake holding her Bible open to Psalm 50 or 91 and praying. It was taking a huge toll on her psychically and physically as well. She looked like the walking dead and was basically a robot. The holiday was a struggle as she was still living in her with her mom in the too small four four people house. Cindy tried to make the best of it and enjoy the holiday season. Unfortunately, they still had not gotten ridden of the thing in the house, and the priest had still not agreed to help her. Shortly after Christmas, she got a phone call from the priest. Cindy explained that she was still not sleeping and that she was going to be going to church on the upcoming Sunday. But she had to go back into the house to get her dress, because when they had left in such a hurry, she had left all her clothes in the house. The priest warned her that the spirit knew that she was trying to leave the house, and that she needed to be very careful. Also, that if she saw the little boy, do not engage with the child but run away, because the evil and the boy were the same spirit.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, hold on. So now priest has changed his tune, and now agreeing that there's spirits in there, but yet he's still doing nothing about it. Cool.

SPEAKER_00

You'll find out why.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, continue. He probably lived there.

SPEAKER_03

It's frustrating.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He probably lived there.

SPEAKER_00

Um, City couldn't believe it because the boy seemed so kind and innocent. The man, the old woman, even the pinkish cloud, she feared those. But the little boy. The priest let her know that he still had something to do on his end before he would be able to go into the house, and that she would need to wait just a little bit longer. So Cindy figured that she had waited this long, honestly, she could wait a little longer. Finally, the day arrives that the priest would go into the home. Cindy,

A Shaky Cleansing And A Fast Retreat

SPEAKER_00

accompanied by her mom and her daughters, met the priest and his companion at the church before going into the house. One thing she noticed was that the priest, the one that she'd been talking to on the phone, his hands were shaking when they were in the church. As they entered the house, and the priest began performing the cleansing on the house, his hands began to shake even more noticeably. He started reading from the Bible and praying and splashing holy water in every room and on the people of the house. With the ritual performed, Cindy had an uneasy feeling. Why did the evil not show itself? If it had the strength to attack her in the daylight, why would it just be silent during the whole ritual? It all seemed too easy. But Cindy was optimistic that it would work and that they would be able to move back into the house as things were getting awfully cramped at her mom's house. Cindy and the girls moved their belongings back into the home, and the girls began to seek out the toys that they hadn't seen in a while to play. Cindy sat down in the kitchen and then felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. Fear struck her in an instant. But she tried to play it off. Besides, didn't the priest get the evil out of the house? Cindy went upstairs to the girls' room and found out the truth. It had not left after all. It was just waiting. Cindy's ears started to close up again. She could feel it all around her. She didn't hear the girls come up behind her, looking so happy to be in the home again. Cindy decided to not tell her kids what was going on and went back downstairs. Suddenly, Brooke screamed out, Mommy, it's still here. Help me. Cindy runs over to the stairs to see Brooke being held up, preventing her from coming down the stairs. Cindy runs towards her child as the evil lets Brooke go. They all agreed to leave they all agree to leave once again, and Cindy ended, or ended up back at her mom's house, defeated. She called the priest and told him what had happened in the home. Unfortunately, he made it clear that he was not going back into the house, and Cindy was on her own again.

SPEAKER_01

Dang, dude. But why? Are we gonna find out why?

SPEAKER_00

Why he wouldn't go back in?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_01

What?

SPEAKER_00

That's not fair. She doesn't say she doesn't say.

SPEAKER_03

Probably because he didn't actually give her a reason.

SPEAKER_01

Well, see, my question is what's that one more thing that he had to do before? Why was he so shaky? Right?

SPEAKER_00

Because he was scared. So come to find out that he had never done an exorcism before. The priest, the person that he was talking, his companion, was from another parish. He was the one that he was talking with to help him understand what to do.

SPEAKER_01

To facilitate it.

SPEAKER_00

To facilitate what was going on.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

But in order to cast out demons in an exorcism, you have to have faith and belief that it's gonna work. And if you're terrified and have no faith, you do nothing. And so nothing happened. Cindy decided that the only thing she could do was to sell the home. Over several days, Cindy was able to go back into the house and clean it so it was be ready to be shown. Word got around that her house was haunted. And she was contacted by Rick Smith, who was a paranormal investigator. He wanted to know if he could come investigate the house. Cindy agreed, but did state that she was not responsible for anything that happened to them. Of course, they agreed and investigated the house. I mean, we would, right? We signed waivers.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Like it's like, yeah, we're gonna go in. Uh the team performed two investigations in the house, one with lights on to kind of get a feel for the house, and the second with the lights off. They used a piece of equipment that sounds a lot like an EMF detector, but Cindy describes it as a s like a speedometer.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Um, I mean that's what mine is, because my EMF detector is a more high-end one. Yeah, so it has a so it looks like a speedometer on the top.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So I wonder if it's the same.

SPEAKER_00

I think so. During the investigation with the lights off, Cindy felt a presence next to her, and she yelled out to have the lights turned back on. When the lights came on, much to everyone's surprise and dismay of the investigation team, the equipment they had used was broken by the spirit.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know if I've ever had a piece of equipment break. Just drain the battery. Yeah, that's right. Physically broken?

SPEAKER_00

Actually, physically broken.

SPEAKER_01

Broke.

SPEAKER_02

Wow.

SPEAKER_00

After leaving the investigation, Cindy was driving down the steep hill that leads, you know, to the road from her house. And she realized she had no brakes.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, jeez.

SPEAKER_00

However, by the time they made it to her mom's house, the brakes worked again.

SPEAKER_03

Weird. I'd be having them checked anyhow.

SPEAKER_00

Right? The house sat on the market waiting for a buyer. But Cindy didn't wait to leave the house for good. In March, a mere seven months after moving in, she finally moved out. She bought a trailer in a mobile home park and started living a new life away from the house. She did, however, have to go in and clean one more time. While she was in the kitchen cleaning, the ceiling exploded like someone had overflowed a bathtub. Cindy was devastated. How could she sell the house now?

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Thankfully, her realtor's brother was a contractor, and he agreed to help find the leak. But there was no leak. Cindy flushed all the toilets, ran bath water, ran water in the sink several times, and yet nothing. Seems that the spirit made one last play to get Cindy to stay in the house. Thankfully, Cindy did not agree to stay, and eventually the house did sell in 1992.

Rumors About The Land And Final Thoughts

SPEAKER_00

Cindy's cousin once told her about an incident when he was younger. He had gone over to some construction workers who were digging and warned them to not dig too deep or they let the devil out. When she and Gled dug up the flowers on the first day at the house, did they dig too deep?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, jeez. Dang, that was a good one.

SPEAKER_03

I wonder if it's some yeah, is it something tied to the land?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

More than likely, that's what it sounds like.

SPEAKER_00

More than likely it is something tied to the land. There are there were reports that there were rituals done on the land before there was a house there, and that they sacrificed people and buried their bodies where the house stood, and not just where the house stood, where that utility room was located, where the girls played.

SPEAKER_03

Interesting. So so here's here's my question. So when they eventually built the house, because of the way the house is built, where that first floor is like underground, would they not have come across a body? If something was buried there? I mean, seriously.

SPEAKER_00

Depends on how long the body was there. So if the body was there for 200, if the body was there for 200 years, it could have it could have.

SPEAKER_01

But how do they know if rituals were done? I mean, just rumors, right? Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we're 250 years old this year. So it was rumors. It was rumors. There was so she had some dreams about these rituals being happening or happening, and then they found they tried to find some documentation um about the house. And um there was a news article that they were supposed to look up that she was supposed to go find about a little girl. Um and when they went to the archives at the library to find that news article, it was missing, it was gone.

SPEAKER_03

Interesting. Huh.

SPEAKER_00

So there's there's a lot more that I left out. Um this is all in a book by Cindy Sarrow. This is all her account. First hand. First hand account from the book, uh, the book called The Wall. Um it is a very, very interesting read. It's also very hard to read. Um, she's very jumbled.

SPEAKER_03

She is. Uh, we you and I watched the documentary.

SPEAKER_00

Which which is what we mean we buy the book.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Um, of her Cindy herself talking. Yeah. And you have to really kind of on scramble what she says to understand what she's saying.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Because she just has this weird way and flow.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

That it's really, really hard to follow. You have to stop and think for a minute and then go, oh, okay, I see what she's saying.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So uh so apparently her writing is much the same.

SPEAKER_00

Much the same.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Um, it's almost reads like a reminiscent diary of the time.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. And is it like, does it go in order? Or do you kind of have to like piece it together?

SPEAKER_00

It goes a little in order. It jumps around a little bit. So some of it kind of bounces. Um, as she would figure out something, you know, as she would write down and think of something that was important that happened maybe you know, a few a couple days earlier. Because you gotta remember this all of this stuff happened in seven months. She was attacked every single night in that house if she fell asleep. She would stay up. She was not by the end of this um her time in the house, and even it continued on at her mom's house. She would not sleep, maybe one or two hours a night. She would stay up all night, have a Bible on her at all times, always open to Psalm 91, always praying, always trying to protect herself from this evil.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And it is, this is probably the scariest haunting I have ever heard. Because it's not like you listen to some of the ones, like we've we've listened to Andrea Perone's, and like the accounts of that were 10 years, and it's like eight things.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

This is a high concentration in a short amount of time. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You got two months. It's 70 different attacks in two months. She's almost murdered twice.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, my question is, how was Glenn when he left the house? Was he better? You know? Like, so you know, when you leave an atmosphere, sometimes, you know, it's like, okay, things calm down and they go back to your regular self.

SPEAKER_00

He he did eventually stop drinking and they did reconcile. Um, but they never stopped fighting, and they never like got over it. And so when she finally did move away from the house, they were gone.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So they are um they are no longer together.

SPEAKER_03

Which is probably better for both of them.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah. So I mean, and there's the thing is, is all the stuff I conveyed is only half of the stuff that happened in the house.

SPEAKER_03

So you recommend people go read the book?

SPEAKER_00

I recommend you go read the book because there's there's even more stuff that happened.

SPEAKER_01

That's wild.

SPEAKER_00

And it's just, it's like, I I can't, like, if I if I do everything, this is gonna be a seven-hour podcast. Because it's just overflowing of stuff.

SPEAKER_01

Can you imagine the physical energy that would be just sucked and drained from you? Like, I had a lot of stuff growing up.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

To me, as a kid, I was exhausted. But I was also a kid, so I had more energy than as an adult. Yeah. So I was able to be okay. Right? But as an adult, when I don't get sleep, everything goes downhill. My health, like my physical health, emotional, mental health, mental, yep, mental and emotional. I end up being like more short. I don't have as much as much patience. Yeah. I can't get anything done. Like, yeah. And that had to been so draining. I couldn't even imagine.

SPEAKER_00

And in all of this, because her money was running out from her uh injury, yeah, she actually got a job and was working at a hotel.

SPEAKER_01

And having to do that on so little sleep and taking care of kids, dealing with this guy that is controlling dealing with Glenn, dealing with the spirit, the entity, dealing with two kids, and sleeping two hours a night.

SPEAKER_03

Ugh.

SPEAKER_00

For months.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and then being attacked and or the fear of being attacked.

SPEAKER_00

So, like all the time that she was at her mom's house, she was always afraid of being attacked at night, even though it never it never left the house.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

All of that.

SPEAKER_01

The the toll man, holy moly, and the unknown, like not knowing what is gonna happen, yeah, with with the house, with you if you have to go back in there with your kids, yep, with Glenn, yeah, you know, like having to live with your mom and be like, How long do I have to live here for? Like, yeah, so that's tough.

SPEAKER_00

They were in, she had a two-bedroom, one-bath place, yeah, is what her mom had. And so the girls basically lived in the living room, and they're by the time five people living in that house, assuming that Glenn was living with them.

SPEAKER_03

He wasn't, it was just her and her girls and the mom.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Glenn was at his parents' house, it was just down the road. So four. So just four, but still, like they took over the living room and had all of their stuff everywhere.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. We all know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's tough.

SPEAKER_00

That's a lot.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So, yeah, it was honestly, like, it's it's a heart-wrenching story to read. Yeah. Um, and it's it's amazing that she endured all of this because I don't know how. I I don't either, because this, I mean, obviously, this it highly seems that this entity is a type three. It is definitely demonic.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And it was trying to wear her down, to take her out.

SPEAKER_01

We knew what it was doing.

SPEAKER_00

It knew exactly what it was doing. But she wouldn't break. She did not break through seven months of hell.

SPEAKER_01

Well, she lasted way longer in the house than I would have.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. But she felt trapped though. Like, she knew she didn't have any place to go.

SPEAKER_01

No, she didn't. She had her mom's.

SPEAKER_00

She had her mom's, but she didn't want to go to her mom's because she didn't have enough space.

SPEAKER_03

If you give me the option between the two, I will go live in a cramped environment over.

SPEAKER_01

Away from over getting punched and whatever, and not sleeping every single day. Yeah. Like, granted, I would rather not sleep at my mom's house than not sleep in the haunted house. Yes. Even if you're still not sleeping, at least you have the comfort of knowing your mom is there. Yes. Right. That is a huge relief.

SPEAKER_00

And that your kids are safe.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. That's right. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So.

SPEAKER_01

Poor lady.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Good thing she's out.

SPEAKER_00

It's a very good thing she's out. So, have you guys ever had an experience like Cindy's? Have you ever, you know, been so terrified to be in your home that you were forced to sell it or move? Let us know. And as always, stay ghosty, my peace.

SPEAKER_03

Where did that come from?

SPEAKER_00

That one again.

SPEAKER_03

That was a good spoof.
